Highs and Lows from South Korea!

Hi lovelies,

As you know from my previous post I was in Daegu, South Korea for the World Athletics Championships, and i got back last week.   I’m not sure if any of you are really interested in athletics, so I won’t bore you with the highs (Great Britain winning 7 medals), and the lows (Usain Bolt's false start and the other numerous disqualifications), and the fact that I didn't actually get to compete as I wasn't selected for the final relay quartet... as you can imagine I was quite depressed!
I've been to 2 previous World Championships and I have to say this one was the most surreal competitions I've ever been too, but again, I won't bore you!

Before going to Daegu, I was at the preparation holding camp in a city called Ulsan. I have to say I was pretty impressed with Ulsan, probably for all the wrong reasons - the shopping was amazing, not only does the exchange rate encourage you to go crazy as everything is super CHEAP, but the Ulsan girls and boys were uber stylish and so chic.  I couldn’t step into a shop without finding at least 10 things I wanted to buy. I bought some gorgeous dusty pink shoes (pic below), a dress and a bag all for under £50… that would never happen at home!!

Anyone who knows me will attest to the fact that sourcing vintage stock for our ASOS Marketplace store is never far from my mind, actually its become rather an obsession no matter where I am in the world!  Although I found it impossible to find any vintage stores in Ulsan, I had no such problems in Daegu… it's rife with vintage and second hand stores, and I’ve been able to stock up on a selection of quirky and super cute knits for our ASOS Marketplace store, and I couldn't resist a selection of 80’s acid wash denim shorts that were up for grabs. They need to be seen to be believed - very cool.

Alexa Chung -Madewell A/W 2011

 

Hi lovelies

So it’s been a while since I've written a post, my sister seems to have made it her personal style blog - I actually love it!  
 Anyway, as per my usual mindless browsing i stumbled across Alexa Chung second collaboration with Madewell - i actually didn't know about their first collaborative effort... i know, i know! Where have i been?!  Like many of our fellow Brits such as; Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Agyness Deyn to name but a few, Alexa is known for her enviable personal style, which makes this a perfect union for Madewell. The collection is simple but definitively Alexa  - from tea dresses with Peter Pan collars, button up over sized blouses and jumpers, killer tiger print ankle boots and some classic tailored boy style coats, all bases were truly covered!

Last of the Summer finds.

Hey lovelies


I'm in South Korea at the moment for the World Athletics Championship, for those of you that follow our blog or follow us on twitter, you'll know that I’m also an athlete. I'm currently in a place called Ulsan for our holding camp and I'll be leaving for Deagu on Wednesday where the Champs will be held. 

Anyway, I’ve been really impressed with the Korean stylistas, they're brilliantly fashion savvy and their looks range from the quirky vintage inspired, to the more understated polished designer chic (very Parisian).  I've been trying to hunt down places to get vintage clothes but without much luck; I’ve found a few places that sell vintage inspired pieces but nothing actually vintage!

Before I left for Korea, we were able to do a photo shoot.  As summer (of which we've had very little) is quickly coming to a close, we thought we'd mix the last of our summer finds with some the autumn pieces we've recently been sourcing  - my favourites are our ladylike sexy secretary blouses which we currently have in stock; from polka dots, pussy bows and bold multi coloured prints.

My Golden Beauties

Hey lovelies

I adore my golden heels... who doesn't love shiny things?!  I’ve been obsessing about these Topshop beauties  for over a month but couldn’t find them anywhere. I scoured all my local Topshop's including their website but in the end I had no choice and headed up to Oxford Circus - I was so chuffed as i snapped up the last pair of size 5.  Aren't they lovely?!

a bit IMPRACTICAL!

 Hey lovelies,

you'll know from my previous post that Jody and I had an impromptu shoot last week - we were supposed to be heading to East London but decided to take a few pics for our ASOS Marketplace store. Anyway, I wore this very impractical skirt while taking the photos, I eventually had to tuck it into the waist band to keep it from flying everywhere. I bought it from Zara early on in the year and adore it, but i find quite difficult to walk in as it tends to cling in all the wrong places! The jumper is also from Zara, I picked it up in the sale for something ridiculously cheap - I'm a big fan of pink, although I don't tend to wear pink very often.

The arm candy has actually become my obsession due to the AMAZING site - Honestly WTF , as I've said before they do the most ingenious DIY tutorials. I made this last week and you can see the braided hex nut bracelet I made a few weeks back HERE.

We are doing another shoot next weekend with some gorgeous vintage pieces, but for now check out the goodies with got in store HERE.

Love Big Shorts...

Hey Lovelies,

Jody and I had an impromptu photo shoot last Thursday - we were supposed to be heading to East London but had an hour or so to kill, so we took advantage of the gorgeous weather we've been having recently. Most of the pieces are from our LA trip, I can't believe we have any left!

I wasn't quite sure about pairing the big shorts with the white cotton sequined shirt or the multi coloured crocodile blouse, but they're actually my favourite looks... we unintentionally seem to be referencing Amelia Earhart, don't you think? 

I'll be uploading the looks later on today on our ASOS Marketplace store. We are planning a much bigger shoot soon, so watch this space.

Hi Lovelies

Hope you are all enjoying your summer where ever you are. In London, we've have seen nothing but rain. However, my summer was recently brightened up by my new YSL Iconic Arty ring... isn't she lovely?  And by my mustard skirt I bought a few weeks back. I've been looking for a reasonably priced, bright coloured pleated skirt for a while and this one totally fitted the bill. So I didn't think twice about making my FIRST online fashion purchase!  I'm usually a "try before I buy" kinda gal, but I think I’ve been converted.

Oh, and I  made the Braided Hex Nut Bracelet above. My sister recently introduced me to the fabulous site Honestly wtf, who have the most ingenious fashion DIY ideas.

One last thing, our recent LA collection is selling like hot cakes but we still have some pieces left, which you shop for HERE. We're planning our next photo shoot very soon, so watch this space.
