I'm competing at the OLYMPICS!!

Hey lovelies,

You may have guessed from the title of this post why I've been a terrible blogger!

As some of you may know from my previous posts I'm a track and field athlete, to be more precise i run 100m and 200m - read here and here. I was living in Orlando, Florida for a while, chasing the sun and getting some much needed warm weather training in order to prepare for the season. Anyway, I'm waffling, so I'll just get right to the point... yes, you've guessed it, I WILL BE COMPETING ATHE OLYMPIC GAMES, which kicks off in less than 8 days!!!

So, there you have it, I've been a crap blogger because i been trying to qualify for the Great Britain team... i think that warrants a good excuse?!

Anyway, from now on I'll be getting my blogging on and bringing you all that's new with VJA, so watch this space.

You can follow us on our facebook  where i will be updating my Olympic journey and of course on our twitter - @vintagejumble or my own personal twitter account - @abioyepitan

Boredom, some DIY and thrifting

Hey from the Sunshine State,

I'm in Orlando at the moment, I'm actually staying in a place called Ocoee, which is about 20mins from Orlando. This is where the party at.... NOT, It’s ridiculously boring but I’m keeping myself entertained. I'll be residing here until May and I’m slowly getting used to the slow pace of life!

I'm here training and competing, trying to qualify for the Olympics 2012.  On my off days I’ve been getting my thrifting on like a mad woman, check out some of my gorgeous finds on INSTAGRAM (@vintagejumbleaffair) - I honestly don't know how I'm going to get all the stuff back to the UK!

In the spirit of keeping myself entertained I’ve also been getting my DIY/up-cycling on. I've seen this dip-dye denim trend all over street blogs and I thought I’d give it a go. It’s really easy, all you need is bleach, a bucket or you can use your sink and make sure you are in a well-ventilated room or do it outside.

Although I was only trying to dye the sleeves I did managed to get some bleach on the front and back of the shirt but I kinda like the affect.

All thrifted Out!

Hey lovelies,

from absolutely no thrifting since landing in LA almost 2 and half weeks ago, to a weekend packed with nonstop second hand shopping, flea markets, yard sales, shopping and more shopping.

Jody landed in LA on Tuesday and we met up on Friday, hitting up what seemed like every second hand shop in the area. I found a gorgeous pink jacket which I know I will loath to sell!

Saturday, I planned to get up early and head to some yard sales but planning is not my strong suit, and suffice to say I didn’t leave the apartment until mid-day and I got totally lost. On the upside, I did discover Huntington Beach which is absolutely stunning.  Jody and I are planning to venture there next Sunday for a picnic - providing the weather holds up!  After much wrong turns, I did find some yard sales but got there too late to find any real gems.

Anyway, I more than made up for this on Sunday. Flea markets was the agenda of the day, and let me tell you Americans do not do anything by half... there flea markets are absolutely humongous!
Jody and I woke up super early and planned to go thrifting to at least 3 flea markets, but nothing could have prepared us for how big there flea markets are, so we only manage 2.

I’m all thrifted out… there will be no more vintage shopping while I’m here, well i say that now, but we'll see.

However, we did find some stunning gems, and luggage allowance permitting, (yeah we didn't think about that when we were buying all those dresses) they will be coming soon on ASOS Marketplace
.

For now, you can shop our store here.

An accidental stop at the beautiful Hunnington Beach.
Thrifted this pink jacket which I totally feel in love with, not sure I can part with it!
Shopping with my two favourite sisters, Jody and Sam.
Now the shopping really began, flea markets galore...
Stunning necklace we thrifted for the store… love love, wish I could keep!
Jody couldn’t decide on these boots, we went back 3 times to try them on and they still didn't fit... I think she was praying third time lucky!
Lost in a sea of shoes
 All thrifted out!

Hi from LA

Hey Lovelies,

Loving LA, its great to train in the sun, although the weather has been a bit bio-polar but I'm sure its better than London! Training is going well, hopefully i will be racing next week, fingers crossed.

I had my first In-N-Out burger in 2years, for those of you who have never heard of In-N-Out burger, its the best burger and fries I have ever tasted! Unfortunately the burger chain is only in California, so if you are ever in the neighbourhood, its a must.

I haven't been able to do any thrifting, its been all about training but hopefully get some done in the next few weeks.

Anyway, here are some pictures of my week so far.

A couple of my training partners, just leaving the track after a session. The session couldn't have been that hard as they are not crawling around the track.. those pictures to come!

Kim posing with the hat that we both ended up buying. Totally fell in love with it, you won't see my head without it... its my new obsession.
Pool side at my apartment complex.
Myself and my friend Sam, she lives in San Diego and came down to see me and took me to her cousin's birthday party full of insane teenagers!
